I have been working on some things for Christmas, and these are the result! They’re snowflake patches, customisable with an initial, or can be left plain. The metallic thread was a bit of a pain to get to work smoothly, but I really like how it looks. The original file for these is from Planet Applique, which I’ve then altered and redigitised parts to work how I want them to. The stitch out process for a little tribute to my dog <3 I find watching the lines stitch at the end to be super satisfying! A few months ago, in April, we had to say goodbye to our dog, Neela. She was a few months shy of 13 years old. I haven't been quite up to doing another portrait of her, but I still wanted to find some way of doing a little tribute to her. My mum had taken some photos of her paw print on the ground, so I thought I'd try digitising a 'watercolour' style piece to embroider. I've got a little paw print on my jumper now, and then this photo is one on some cotton so I can incorporate it into a quilt.
